Hi all
Our first nature outing to Coughton Court this week was a huge success. We have already seen some stunning images of bluebells and other subjects in our social media feeds. The advantage of a large site such as Coughton Court meant that members could meet in small groups complying with current restrictions. Our next outing to Cotswold Wildlife Park isn’t far away on 12th May. Another great chance to rebuild our portfolios after a lean year.
Jenny has also published her Nature Blog for May jenny-websters-nature-tips which is full of excellent ideas for shots in May. Nature is often at its best at this time of year – full of vibrant colours and plentiful wildlife activity.
Congratulations to all winners in the Annual Open Competition last week. There were so many good images for our judge Peter Young to choose from – and so many potential winners.
I’m sure that you have all noticed how well creative images are doing in not only club competitions and external exhibitions. Our meeting this week is brought to us by Cherry Larcombe EFIAP ARPS DPAGB BPE*5 on Creative Flower Photography. These images can be done by anyone with a basic background in image editing. Personally, I always feel that the results are good enough to hang on your wall at home, as much as on the wall of an exhibition.
There aren’t many evenings left in our current season. On 11th May we have our AGM. There’s still time to put your name forward for the committee if you feel that you have something to offer Bromsgrove PS in the year ahead – don’t be shy, we always value new ideas and input.
Finally – our new print boards are in use at the shop front display in the High Street. This has attracted a lot of public interest and even some new members, so it has been an overwhelming success.
