Last week’s Q&A session seemed to be well received, with plenty of useful comments and suggestions from the floor as well as questions. The early session on entering competitions was also very popular – thanks to Nick and David for organising that. Good to see more new members too!
This coming Tuesday we have a presentation by John Sheridan FIPF AFIAP, entitled “An evening with John Sheridan. FIPF is the highest distinction awarded by the Irish Photographic Federation, and John’s presentation will almost certainly include some Irish landscapes, but a glance at his Instagram feed suggests we may see some great photos from all around the world. John will be joining us via Zoom.
Look out for emails from Dug (and indeed anyone else that may have spotted an upcoming local event that may be of interest to members). The next event that has been highlighted as worth visiting is the Stoke Prior Steam Rally, which takes place next weekend. Unfortunately I don’t think I’ll be able to go due to family commitments, but I’ve visited a couple of times in prior years and always found it worthwhile – full of interesting characters (and machinery) all happy to pose for the cameras. If there’s enough interest from members we will try to arrange a time to meet up to make it a more sociable outing.
That’s about it for this week – look forward to seeing you all on Tuesday.
Richard
