No summer programme events last week to report on, but we make up for that this coming week with 3 different meetups planned!

First up on Tuesday at 7pm is the annual barbecue, at Avoncroft Arts Centre. We will provide the grills and barbecue tools, and the hall will be open for access to chairs and tables (and toilets). Please bring (and then cook) whatever food you want to eat, plus any crockery ot. The weather forecast for Tuesday is very hot, so remember to bring drinks too!

It’s usually a very enjoyable and well-attended event, so I look forward to seeing many of you there.

Then on Thursday August 14th, there is “Bike Night” in Droitwich. The information below is copied from the WhatsApp group post from Peter Marrs, who is leading the outing that night:

“Bike Night in Droitwich, Thursday 14th August. For anyone interested I will be at Waitrose main entrance at 18.30, the Droitwich High St is the location of the Bikes on display, as said previously it is a great opportunity for capturing people in addition to the bikes. Car parking in Waitrose car park is free, cafe’s and plenty of pubs too. Let me know if it is of interest and you are able to join me.

Peter”

As if that was not enough, on Friday 15th Helen Cox is leading an outing to the Black Country Museum. Again, the information below is copied from the WhatsApp group:

“An evening trip to the Black Country Museum. On Friday 15 August, aiming to arrive at 1600, the site is open til 8. If you want to book a ticket for £8.49, see https://tickets.bclm.com/127514/127518 (or look under “ what’s on” then “summer lates”.).  If less sure, unless lots sell this week, it should still be possible to buy on arrival. Photos, fish suppers, drinks for those who wish…”Note that there is a charge for parking at the museum, so car sharing is a good idea if possible.

The following week there is the Chinese meal in Evesham. Please contact David Ward if you are planning to go.

Remember if you have not already done so to look out for the renewal email from Tony Hawksbee. While subs aren’t due until September, it’s always nice to see people renewing early so we can start to feel relaxed about being able to afford the programme of events we have booked!
