I hope everyone enjoyed the “Q&A” session last Tuesday, and got all their questions about what to expect in the new season answered.
This Tuesday our new season begins in earnest, starting with the first “Early Session” of the year, where David will be leading a “Show and Tell” for images taken during the summer. While many images will have been taken on one of the “Summer Programme” outings, any image taken this summer is eligible. Prints or PDIs (on a USB stick) welcome – see David’s email for more information.
The main session this week is a talk from Anil Patel, entitled “Mobile Phone Photography”. The information below is what Anil has sent us about the presentation:
“My interest in photography started around 2018 but became a consistent passion around 2020. Over the past four years, I have achieved several photography awards and features for Worcestershire Wildlife Trust, Worcester News, Worcester Cathedral and BBC Midlands and Hereford and Worcester.
I have a passion for mobile phone photography, with specific interests in weather, reflections, differential focus, nature, and unique perspectives. In March 2024, I gained my biggest achievement to date and was shortlisted for the 2024 Mobile Photography Awards; part of the British Photography Awards.
Every shot I take is with the mindset of capturing something through my own perspective, style, and freedom. This is what I am keen to share with you all.”
Should be an interesting evening. Remember that Tuesday is also the last day for handing in for our first PDI competition of the year. And also a gentle reminder for those entering that entries will only be accepted from members who have paid their subscriptions for the year…
I look forward to seeing you all on Tuesday.
Richard
