I was sad to miss the practical evening last Tuesday – but I don’t think anyone would have wanted me coughing and sneezing on them. I heard it went well!
This week we have two things to look forward to. At 7pm the Early Session will feature Andy Taylor talking about Astrophotography, with an emphasis on what can be achieved without needing specialized equipment.
At 8pm the main session is the second PDI competition of the season, featuring judge David Graham. There is a very full entry again, which is both a very good thing but also potentially a headache – we’ll have to hope the judge is a fast talker!
Looking further ahead, the committee have started to think about arrangements for the traditional New Years Party, which this season will be held on January 6th 2026. Unfortunately the post of Social Secretary is still vacant, meaning there is no-one currently assigned to organizing it. Is there any member out there willing to consider taking on this role? Please talk to me, or any other member of the committee, if you think this might be something you could help with, or for more information about what the role entails.
Finally, I just forwarded the latest MCPF newsletter – an interesting read and features some familiar names and photographs!
Looking forward to seeing you all on Tuesday
Richard
