An exciting evening last week at the “Boys vs girls” competition – some great pictures, and some friendly rivalry. Result was closer than last year, but another victory for the girls – congratulations to everyone whose pictures were on show, but especially to the winning team, and many thanks to everyone who helped organize this fun evening.
Before that we had a session from David and Ele on Brushes and textures in Photoshop and Affinity. Very educational, well attended, and well received.
As I mentioned last week, there’s a change to the programme this week – we don’t have a model booked for the scheduled model night, so we are going to move the “MCPF travelling portfolio” night that was originally scheduled for later in the season to this coming Tuesday to give us more time to organise the studio night.
This also means that there is an opportunity for an early session – there has been a request for a session on “Back button focussing and focus tracking”, so I’ll be trying to give an overview of those topics on Tuesday.
Finally, something for the members to think about… there are a few vacancies on the committee right now and likely to be more after the AGM in May. Without committee members willing to organize the club social events, book the speakers, book models, run competitions etc etc the club cannot operate – so for anyone who has been enjoying the club for a while that thinks perhaps they could help in the running of it, please have a word with one of the committee members to see whether you can see yourself in one of these roles.
