01.03.2026 Vocal Point

I hope everyone enjoyed the MCPF travelling portfolio last week. There were some fine images, including a fair number from BPS members, covering a wide variety of genres from nature to portraiture to landscape to astrophotography and everything in between. Sorry about the late change to the programme – we will try to reschedule the model evening that was originally planned for that date sometime later in the season. Unfortunately the committee post for arranging models is currently vacant – if anyone is interested in taking on that role going forward please talk to a member of the committee.

Coming up this week we have a presentation from Dave Airston LRPS DPAGB EFIAP – a local (Halesowen) photographer with 40 years of motorsports photography. Check out his website at https://grandprixphotography.com/ to see what sort of thing to expect. The title of the talk is “Stories behind my motor sport images” so we should be in for an interesting evening as well as some great images.

Tuesday is also the last handing-in day for the 4th Print competition – please see emails from Dennis for details about how many entries are allowed etc.

There will be no early session this week.

Please remember that we have an inter-club competition coming up at Stourbridge on Thursday March 5th. David has sent out information about how to join via Zoom if you can’t be there in person to support BPS. We are the current holders of that trophy so it will be interesting to see if we can hang on to our crown. We have a strong entry, with fourteen different members represented!

That’s it for now – see you all on Tuesday.

Richard
