What a great evening we had on Tuesday at the awards night! Good food, good company, great pictures, and great commentary from our glamorous host, Nick V. Many thanks to everyone that made it happen, especially to Helen Cox and her team of helpers for organizing the food, setting out the tables etc, and to Dennis Redmond for creating the presentation of winning images and results.
We are now officially in the Summer season, with no more meetings at Avoncroft until September (except for the special events I will come to shortly) – so PLEASE don’t turn up on Tuesday and expect to be let in, as you’ll be waiting a long time…
We will be running the Summer Programme in the same way as we have done for the last couple of years, with member-led outings added to the calendar as we get volunteers to lead them. We will aim to have at least one outing per week on average – not confined to Tuesday nights, they could be any time of the day and any day of the week. The website will be kept up to date with a list of the events as they are arranged, and I will send reminders in Vocal Point every Sunday.
The first such outing is tomorrow, Monday June 1, at Droitwich, led by Peter Marrs – it’s a Classic car meet at Droitwich Rugby Club, free entry from 6pm. More details at https://www.facebook.com/bowlinggreenclassiccars/
Not really a Summer Programme meet, but also worth mentioning – Trevor Hunter’s latest exhibition of photography opens at Hanbury Hall on Tuesday. Well worth a visit if you are in the area!

You should have seen emails from Jenny W about two special sessions we are organizing at Avoncroft Arts Centre over the summer. The first is a 3-hour workshop on creative work in Photoshop and Affinity, on Sunday August 2. Free to all members, but please register with Jenny so we can track numbers.
The second is a model shoot with Rosie and Adam, limited to 10 photographers, and at a cost of £40 per head, on August 16th. See Jenny’s email for details. Both sessions will run from 10am to 1pm.
