Van Greaves became a Fellow of the Royal Photographic Society in 1991. He photographs locations and people, weddings, portraits, P.R., functions and personal injury.

He has photographed celebrities such as Lauren Bacall, David Attenborough, Steve Davis, George Best, Henry Cooper, Jack Bodell, and many more.

A veteran of many hundreds of wedding photography shoots, Van is equally at home with any kind of people photography and location work which has brought him publication of work in various kinds of media. Van’s photography has taken him across the world from Britain to Scandinavia, Europe, The Mediterranean, North America, South America and The Himalayas. His pictures have been published in books, magazines, greetings cards, post cards, calendars, local authority tourism and leisure brochures, private company brochures and record /CD sleeves.

A member of The Outdoor Writers’ Guild, he has been a regular writer and photographer for “Trail” and has also contributed to “Country Walking”, “High”, and “TGO” magazines. His articles and photos have appeared in photographic magazines such as “Practical Photography”, “Outdoor Photography” and “Professional Photographer”.

He has pictures with a private photographic agency, and his own library of pictures, including wilderness, countryside, small town or village locations of mainland Britain, and a superb American West collection. He also photographs flowers, gardens, interesting buildings, cities, people and travel. His work has appeared in The Sun and The Daily Telegraph. Van has had pictures accepted, and some awarded in national and international salons of photography, and he lectures on travel and location photography to photographic clubs and other organisations. He has led photographic weekend breaks in Wales and Yorkshire.
