Such terrible news earlier this week about Colin - everyone at BPS has been deeply saddened, and we are all feeling a great sense of loss. Colin was such a lovely man, and BPS will not be the same without his cheeky grin.

While I was searching around for things to say, I came across this article that I thought members might find interesting:

I have heard from Colin's family - they mentioned that they knew Colin really appreciated the BPS meetings on Tuesdays and that he had many friends there, and they trust we will raise a glass/cup of tea to Colin at Tuesday's meeting! I'm sure we will all want to do that, but we also plan to do something a little bigger the following Tuesday (May 12th), when Judith will be able to attend and hopefully bring some of Colin's prints along for viewing, with a book of remembrance and a chance for members to share thoughts on what Colin meant to them and to BPS. That night is a model night, which seems particularly fitting.

On a happier note, the Annual Novice competition on Tuesday was a great success, with excellent prints and good judging from Monica Doshi. Congratulations to all those who entered, and especially those whose work was awarded the highest scores!

This Tuesday we have a presentation from Steve Varman - I believe the presentation will be focussed on Street photography (though I may have misremembered that), but his website suggests he is skilled across all sorts of genres! No early session, but I'll try to open up a little early as members may want to have time to chat before the session gets underway.

Remember that any motions for the AGM should also be given to the club secretary by this Tuesday.

Bromsgrove Photographic Society (BPS) are proud to announce that we have become an official Primrose Partner. We are supporting Primrose Hospice and Family Support Centre not only with our photographic expertise, but also through personal volunteering from some of our nearly 80 members!

BPS will work closely with Primrose going forward and we will be seeking to provide other support and assistance to help with much needed fund raising. We at BPS are proud to be working with Primrose  to ensure it continues to provide the extensive services it does for the local community.
Welcome to the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust foster family; Thank you for adopting Kipekee and supporting our pioneering Orphans’ Project. Your generosity enables us to nurture orphaned wildlife like Kipekee, providing the specialised care they need to thrive and ultimately reclaim their rightful place in the wild. We hope you enjoy following Kipekee’s journey and are honoured to have you in our foster family. Most gratefully, Bromsgrove Photographic Society Angela Sheldrick CEO, Sheldrick Wildlife Trust
