Congratulations to everyone who did well in the 2nd PDI Competition last week, judged by Van Greaves. As ever, the standard was very high. It was also very encouraging to see such a high number of entries into the Novice Nature section. Well done everyone.
Yesterday, we participated in the Cwm Rhondda Battle – an international competition featuring 26 clubs with 4 images each. As expected, the standard was very high, featuring a very wide range of photographic genres. We finished a very credible 12 out of 26, and our thanks go to Rhondda Camera Club for their hard work in organising this competition.
This Tuesday, we are in for a treat. Our very own Peter Young will be presenting to us on “Award Winners of the Welsh Federation”. This promises to be a fascinating critique of images from a very experienced judge.
As previously requested, we need prints to display at the Avoncroft Arts Society exhibition in two weeks’ time. Please remember to bring your work with you on Tuesday evening this week, or let me know if you need to make alternative arrangements. We need work from everyone. If you displayed at the library recently, you should have a print ready to go.
Finally, Christmas is on the horizon, and we all know how difficult present buying can be. So, why not solve your problems by buying a copy of the magnificent Bromsgrove Photographic Society Nature Calendar? At only £7 for 1 or £12 for 2, this is really a bargain. We have sold a lot so far and will be placing a final repeat order very soon – don’t risk missing out. If you cannot be at the club on Tuesday, then let me know, and I will set them aside for you.
See you all on Tuesday
