Well, it feels like the summer has come to a sudden end, and with it the BPS summer season. Which is good news, because it means that meetings at Avoncroft Arts Centre are about to start again!
On Tuesday September 1st we have our first meeting of the new season – this is billed as an open evening and we try to persuade as many potential new members as possible to come along and find out what it’s all about, but there’s something for all the existing and returning members too. Quite apart from a chance to meet up again and find out what everyone has been up to over the summer, there is also going to be a sales table where you can bring all your unwanted camera/photography-related stuff to sell, and buy all the camera equipment you always dreamed about at bargain prices. Rumour has it there may even be some tripods for sale…
Also on Tuesday, we will be setting up an exhibition in Bromsgrove Library, which will run for the month of September. It’s always nice to have an opportunity to showcase our members’ work, and we try to make sure that as many members as possible are represented in the display (provided of course that they have given us prints to use)!
Finally, please note that the first PDI competition of the season will open for entries on Tuesday – see Den’s email for more details. And remember, entries will only be accepted from paid-up members, so if you have not yet paid your subs for 2026/2027 now’s the time to do so!
