I hope everyone that went to the Chinese Meal last Tuesday had a good time – sorry I was not able to make it.

Coming up this Tuesday August 11th, we have what is normally scheduled to be the BPS summer BBQ. However, due to the current extreme drought conditions and the fact that most of the buildings at Avoncroft Arts Centre are made of wood, the committee has decided in the interests of fire safety that this year’s event will be rebranded as the “BPS Summer Picnic” and no grills will be in use. Please don’t turn up with food that needs cooking, and definitely do NOT turn up with a BBQ, disposable or otherwise!

Talking of the summer picnic, Tony G is on the hunt for spare jam jars again, and has requested that anyone that might have some to spare bring them along on Tuesday. I have a few that I will try to remember to bring!

Next weekend on Sunday 16th there is a model shoot at Avoncroft Arts Centre – you should already know if you have booked onto this, and I believe all places are taken at this point. If you think you are booked on and have NOT received additional information from Jenny and/or Sheila, then please follow up with one of them ASAP.

David has been busy on various improvements to the website, including adding calendar functionality that will automatically update the calendar on your phone with information about upcoming BPS events! Looked like it was working very well when I tried it, but I think it may still be in a state of flux at the moment as he improves some other aspects of the website.

There’s still plenty of activities that may be of interest to photographers going on around Bromsgrove – Anne has posted links to quite a few of them on the WhatsApp group so keep an eye there if you are looking for something to inspire you.

Finally, a reminder that on August 22nd we will have our annual stall on Bromsgrove High Street – this is one of the best ways we have of finding potential new members. Anyone willing to help out and help mind the stall for an hour or two on the day will be greatly appreciated.
