Well done to everyone who entered our first PDI competition of the year last week. The standard was incredibly high in both Novice and Open sections. Our judge – Michael Krier – was fair and helpful with his critique. He really had a tough job picking out what were the best images in his opinion.
This week we move on to our first studio night of the year – so bring your cameras. Our models will be Kick Boxers from the club that meet at Avoncroft. They are very cooperative and will produce a range of “action” poses for us. This is a good chance to develop your studio skills in a helpful environment. Colin Close has sent out an email on 21st September explaining what is happening during the evening. One thing I would say is please be familiar with the basic settings on your camera and how to change – shutter speed, f-number and ISO. You will definitely get the best from your images by moving away from Auto settings if possible.
The studios will be set up and ready to go by 8-00 pm. The stage will be part of the studio setup. Due to the setting up time before we start, there will be no early session this week.
Please also note, that this evening is not suitable for Zoom transmission or recording.
