Hi all

What a great time of year for taking photos – if you can dodge the heavy rain. It’s a timely reminder that Weather is one of our set subjects for this year – the ever-changing conditions at this time are perfect for getting dramatic shots. The Autumn colours are coming to their best and we appear to have an abundance of fungi – they are everywhere you look. So really, there is no excuse for not getting your camera out.

Last week’s practical night went well and many thanks to Jan for running a table on Differential Focusing, and to Richard for his excellent display of macro techniques. Also, many thanks to everyone else who helped out on the evening with setting up, taking down, and also for contributions to our sales table – we made in the region of £60 – every little helps us keep your membership fees down.

This week we have a presentation from Wayne Brittle – “Another Time, Another Place”. Wayne is based in Staffordshire and specialises in landscape photography He has provided us with the following information for his talk – please note that it could be useful to bring a notebook with you.

Here is a little info on my talk:

ANOTHER TIME, ANOTHER PLACE

It is all about how I go about capturing my landscapes from the planning stage through to the moment of capture. It includes lots of tips and advice on locations, equipment and techniques. There is a totally open and honest approach to the night, I welcome questions from the members as well as have a bit of fun in the process.

My slideshow which goes along with the talk is being constantly updated so some new images are appear every talk I give which keeps the show ‘fresh’. I might suggest that it might be useful to bring along a notebook and pen as there is a lot of information to take in on the evening.

As an ambassador for NiSi Filters I give examples of how these filters work for you when out in the field. Also, as an ambassador for Fotopro, Professional Tripod Manufacturers. I show the importance of using a sturdy tripod while out on location.

To view a selection of work then please visit my website at: www.waynebrittlephotography.com and I also have a photography page on facebook at: www.facebook.com/waynebrittlephotography1 and now on Instagram at wayne brittle photography.

There will also be an early session this week – details to be supplied by Richard. Technical conditions permitting, we hope to broadcast both sessions on Zoom.

See you all on Tuesday

Best wishes

David
