31/01/2021 Vocal Point

Good morning all.

We have a change to our advertised programme this week. It has not been possible to acquire the PAGB downloaded lecture that we planned to present. Instead, we are bringing forward the MCPF Portfolio 2020 that was scheduled for 23 February, This presents the best PDI, Print and Nature work in the MCPF federation as judged last year. There should be some excellent images to look at, and I know that Bromsgrove PS are well represented.

That will cover our main session. We also have an early session at 7-00pm when Beks will be continuing the very popular Roger Lewis Foundation Course. It is never too late to join in, so look out for your Zoom invite via the usual channels.

Looking ahead to the following week – 9th February – we are taking part in the Annual Six a Side competition – hosted by Droitwich. I know that the selection panel led by Jenny Webster had a very difficult task in choosing the best images to enter due to the high standard of our competition work in recent years. Our entries cover a wide range of authors and are as follows (your invite will follow in due course) –

Freedom – Sue Vernon CPAGB BPE2*
50 and Counting – Colin Close DPAGB AFIAP LRPS BPE5*
Day out at the Museum – David Jellie
Bank Vole – John Caswell
The Quiraing Tree – Jan Harris CPAGB
Trio of Fly Agaric – Rebekah Nash
Railway in the City – Nick Veale
Red Fox in Rainfall – Julie Hall CPAGB BPE2*
The Passage of Time – Ele Rea
In the Arms of Mother – Jenny Webster BPSA EPSA  EFIAP  DPAGB  LRPS BPE3*

Hopefully, you will all have been informed that Jenny has updated her Nature Tips on our webpage jenny-websters-nature-tips Obviously, lockdown is limited our opportunities to get out a take fabulous nature images, but even if you are housebound Jenny’s blog will transport you to better times to come. It really is entertaining reading.

Stay safe and healthy everyone.
